Since the completion of the demolition works in early 2015 our contractors, Ardmore, have been making good progress with the construction of Phase 1. The concrete frames are progressing in Buildings 3B, 3C and 10, and brick and blockwork installation is ongoing on the ground floor. Installation of drainage and the inner leaf of the external walls are progressing on the first floor. The demolition of Building 11 is complete and the existing foundations removed. Internally, the soft-strip of non-heritage features has commenced and archaeologists have carried out below ground investigations. Scaffolding and construction hoists have been installed to Building 12, and drylining, ventilation and services are being installed within the building. The temporary cofferdam on the east side of the River Wandle has been removed, and new flood defences are being installed to the east side of the river.
The works for Phase 1 involve the restoration of the iconic heritage buildings within the Brewery complex and construction of 338 apartments and the basement for the whole development as well as an energy centre and links to the Southside shopping centre.

EA Land Closure
In order for construction work for the new river wall to continue, an area of the site fronting onto Wandsworth High Street, located to the west of the River Wandle, has beem fenced off by our contractors, Ardmore.
The new hoarding is now in place and the land will be closed to the public until the completion of the first phase of the development in 2017.
Once complete this area will provide a bridge from the west side of the Wandle to the main development including the new public realm, a new river walk, public spaces as well as new restaurants and cafes.
